Not a perfect Man…

1016670_10151687200965590_174838341_nAfter my father was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and had brain surgery to remove the tumor that had developed he had a difficult time communicating. There were to be no more long conversations or bits of wisdom or stories of his youth. You could not ask him even the simplest question and expect anything resembling an intelligent answer. It wasn’t that he didn’t understand what was being asked, he just couldn’t get the words to come out of his mouth to reply. I do think it’s significant that there was one thing he could always immediately reply to…

My father was not a perfect man but here are some things I can tell you:

I can’t tell you that my Father never complained…but I can tell you that I never heard him complain and he never complained to me.

I can’t tell you that my Father never cussed…but I can tell you that I never heard him curse and he never cussed at me.

I can’t tell you that my Father never lied…but I can tell you that I never heard him lie and he never lied to me.

I can’t tell you that my Father never had tough times…but I can tell you that he never let me know when times were tough.

I can’t tell you that my Father ALWAYS loved on my Mother (even though he DID always love her)…but I CAN tell you that he NEVER, Never hated on her.

When my Father passed away my Mother cried for about a week…and until her dying days she never cried again.

Peace and Love!
