The week of Misty-ness…like Misty…I’m misty…

1936341_133980315589_3685904_nSo I recounted a couple of weeks ago how the outdoor soccer team I play on won the championship. I also, you may remember, told you that I was actually knocked out of that game with a concussion. It seems that the after affects of that episode were still in the making as I wrote that. In fact, although I evidently “wrote” a post last week which was in fact just the posting of a Snoopy Thanksgiving picture, I don’t remember in fact doing that…although I must have because there it is!

I have in fact been pretty much out of it the last two weeks. If I had to guesstimate I would say that I have been sleeping 22 out of every 24 hours since Monday November 24th. No TV, no computers, very little phone or personal interaction with anyone. I took the week of Thanksgiving off and then was put on bed rest this week. This time I am using to post this will be the longest I have been upright in two weeks…and then I will probably go back to bed.

If you’re wondering what this all has to do with the title of this post: my friend Misty always says that her most favorite thing in the world is to sleep…and I’ve been living her dream for the last two weeks because baby that’s about all I have been doing. And for what it’s worth, I’ve needed it. I’m almost pain free now and no longer feeling sick to my stomach all the time. I’ve had a few people recount the incident at length now and I really didn’t take it seriously enough. As one person put it, “if what happened to you on the field happened on the street that guy would be charged with assault.”

So my “week of Misty” is almost up now…I think I’m going to be alright…just one more nap or so should do it.

Peace!
